Honouring my Pa

Hi, I'm Angus. I'm a brother, a son, a grandson and a student... and sometimes, an endurance racer too. I'm currently training for my biggest race yet - an Ironman 70.3.

And I'm doing it in honour of my Pa - my grandfather, Serge, a former Karuna patient.

Like Angus, you can make a difference.

Angus and his family are just one of the many Brisbane families Karuna supports with specialist palliative and end-of-life care.

It is a privilege to be a part of Angus' journey, and to share his story with our supporters as he prepares to honour his grandfather.

Your donation will help other families facing a terminal diagnosis to access vital services such as spiritual care, nursing visits, and counselling.

Special thanks to all of our supporters

Thanks to all of our supporters. The support you show makes a very real difference to our ability to continue to care for our patients and their families in their place of choice. As we are only partially government funded, philanthropy and community support is essential.

Follow my journey

When I started training for triathlons, I decided to post my progress on social media.

I quickly found a small community online. They helped to hold me accountable to my goals, and offered me support and encouragement.

As I continue my training for the Sunshine Coast Ironman 70.3, social media remains a part of my journey.

Now, I share not just my training updates, but also about my fundraising efforts for Karuna in honour of my Pa.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my story. If you would like to keep up with my progress towards the Ironman 70.3, you can follow me on Instagram
@angusrg_tri. Don’t forget to also follow Karuna via @karunahospice!

I hope to see you online. Thank you for joining me in raising money and awareness for Karuna’s vital services.
